Wake Up With Jackson

One of my favorite times in every day is waking up Jackson. It begins with slowly opening the door and him playing possum for a minute.

Then I'll walk in and sit in the chair beside his crib.  He'll stand up sleepily and stare...

 ....rub his eyes...

...and finally give me the sweetest smile, usually with his hand placed just like this:

Then it's fun time!   He giggles, ducks down like he's hiding from me, comes back up, giggles some more...

...and gives me some really cute photo-ready poses:

Then I'll ask him, "Where's Giraffe", so he'll swoop down and grab him, lay back down and suck his thumb.  He has two giraffe's now - one since birth that a friend brought to the hospital and another I went to buy in case we ever lost the first.  He knows the difference!  Only old giraffe is his sleep time friend, and holding him is the only time Jackson sucks his little thumb.

But giraffe in the morning can also make for fun peekaboo time with mommy.  So he'll grab both of them and hide his face and I say, "Where's Jackson"...

...then he flings them down in an excited squeal!

 Waking up is soooooo fun!
